LAHORE: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that the new rain system will provide relief to heat-stricken residents in various parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
The PMD confirmed that a new weather system could potentially bring rain to Punjab within two days. Currently, dry conditions persist across much of Punjab, and no rain is expected to occur within the next 24 to 48 hours.
Dust plague winds are also expected in Lahore and some cities, bringing a small decrease in temperature. Still, the overall weather will remain rather dry, PMD explained.
Weather temperatures in Lahore could be between 24c and 34c. Weather experts explained that this new rain spell system will enter the west and will produce rain across Punjab in a few days, which will increase the likelihood of rain.
Predictions for the remaining districts and parts of KP are predictably partly cloudy. Rain and thunder will probably occur in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Buner, Malakand, Mansehra, and Battagram.
Hot and dry weather is likely to prevail in most districts of Balochistan. However, there is a chance of rain with gusty winds and thunder in Khuzdar, Lasbela, and adjoining areas.
Quetta recorded 33°C, Kalat recorded 27°C, Ziarat recorded 21°C, Zhob recorded 36°C, Sibi recorded 41°C, while Turbat hit 43°C.
Maximum temperatures recorded in other areas range between Nokundi 42°C, Chaman 36°C, Gwadar 38°C, and Jiwani 39°C.
