GUJRANWALA: Punjab Traffic Police has launched six Rahbar Centres in Gujranwala to streamline the process of issuing and renewing driving licenses, including learner, international, light and heavy transport vehicle permits.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Ayesha Butt inaugurated the centres, which are built on a smart office model to offer modern, efficient services to the public.
The initiative aims to reduce traffic accidents and promote legal driving habits in a city where the population has now crossed 2.3 million, with millions of vehicles, mostly motorcycles, plying on the roads daily.
Three of the new centres in Gujranwala are already operational at Dastgir Chowk, Chunda Qila and Jinnah Interchange. All locations are equipped with wireless traffic management systems and offer services such as issuance of learner, duplicate, international and motorcycle licenses.
Additionally, citizens can register traffic complaints and access information about road conditions and government departments.
CTO Ayesha Butt emphasized that more than 1.5 million licenses have already been issued.
She urged citizens to follow traffic rules and not allow minors to drive.
