Karachi Weather Update; Strong gusts of wind are expected to persist today


KARACHI: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong gusts that have caused the weather to turn chilly in Karachi will persist until this evening.

Strong winds began blowing in Karachi on Monday evening as a result of the influence of the westerly waves that are striking Sindh and Balochistan, according to the Met Office. The wind is coming from the northeast at a pace of 34 to 36 kilometers per hour, according to the Met Department. It further stated that the wind can reach 45 km/h.

According to the meteorological agency, Karachi’s morning temperature was 17°C on Tuesday. In the meantime, Tuesday’s thunderstorms and snowfall over the hills in Balochistan and the upper regions of the nation have been predicted by the PMD.

A westerly wave was predicted by the Met Office to arrive in Balochistan on February 25 and perhaps hit some areas of the nation on February 26.

On February 25 and 26, in Chaghi, Noushki, Kharan, Panjgur, Gwadar, Awaran, Khuzdar, Kalat, Lasbella, Sibbi, Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Zhob, Sherani, Barkhan, Musakhel, and Kohlu, rain-wind/thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) with a few heavy falls is predicted under the influence of this weather system.” On February 25 and 26, the Met Office had forecast gloomy conditions with blustery gusts in the southern regions of Sindh.

The department issued a warning, stating that vehicles, solar panels, and other loose constructions could be harmed by the wind-thunderstorm.
