The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) of Engineering, Sciences, and Technology has been granted permission to lease property for its campus building in Islamabad by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

Following discussion of the request from Member (P&D), the allocation of land measuring 645’x680′ (or around 80 Kanals or 10 Acres) was approved. This property is close to the SUPARCO site that has been allotted on Plot Nos. 22, 23, & 24 (partial) in Zone 4 of the Kuri Agro Farming Scheme (Concept Plan), Islamabad.

GIKI’s land allotment is contingent upon several factors. First, the subject site will be included in the layout design by CDA’s Planning Wing.

Furthermore, to construct a campus in the Islamabad Capital Territory, GIKI must present a Federal Charter. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) must also permit them to develop the campus in Islamabad.
