ISLAMABAD: In an attempt to obtain another bailout package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the federal government is exploring the possibility of collecting taxes from traders in electricity bills.

According to reports, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) wants to tax 3.5 million dealers, and it’s suggested that they do it by sending them monthly electricity bills.

Rather than the shop’s owner, the person in charge of operations will be the one to collect the tax liability. A new column for traders in electricity bills has also been proposed as a solution to this problem.
