KARACHI: Karachi Traffic Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ahmed Nawaz instructed his team not to issue traffic violation tickets to motorists breaking rules from 5 pm until Iftar, the time for breaking fast during Ramadan, on Monday.
DIG Nawaz emphasized ensuring smooth traffic flow on busy roads so people can reach home in time for Iftar. Instead of issuing fines, officers were told to warn drivers with families who break traffic rules during this period.
He specifically directed attention to preventing one-way violations, which often lead to accidents and traffic jams. He also stressed the importance of not parking vehicles at turns.
Additionally, Nawaz stated that officers without body cameras should not issue tickets, and traffic police should not gather in groups on roads. They were also instructed to enforce the fast lane rule strictly on Shar-e-Faisal road and ensure motorcyclists stay in the proper lane.

Furthermore, the DIG urged officials to allocate time for removing wrongly parked cars and warned of consequences for officers mistreating citizens.
