On X, formerly known as Twitter, users gradually unlock more features within the X platforms with paid memberships to three tiers of premium services — Basic, Premium, and Premium+.

However, scammers can simply pose as well-known personalities and trick their followers into falling for different schemes due to Twitter’s option to buy verification.

Elon Musk launched the paid verification mechanism on X, formerly known as “Twitter Blue,” in an effort to combat spammers and scammers who were using the network extensively before his takeover.
