ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has opposed the formation of an inquiry commission by the federal government to probe the contents of the letter of judges of the Islamabad High Court.
Following an urgent PTI committee meeting, it was asserted that the letter from the judges constituted a personal accusation against federal government agencies.
The committee criticized the idea of investigating such a serious matter involving a sitting judge through a retired judge-led inquiry, deeming it as an undermining of impartiality, transparency, and independence in investigations.
The PTI statement issued post-meeting rejected the establishment of the inquiry commission by the federal government, citing concerns over credibility due to the government’s contested mandate.
The statement highlighted the judiciary and legal community’s apprehensions regarding this sensitive issue, emphasizing the need for Supreme Court intervention and public scrutiny of the matter.

Furthermore, the committee advocated for a Judicial Conference to address the demands of the High Court judges and ensure transparency in presenting facts to the public.
