KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) that there is not much chance of rain in Karahi after the chances of downpours in Karachi on Friday and Saturday are gone.

Earlier, the Met Office said that there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunder in some areas of the city. The Chief Meteorologist added that the weather will remain cloudy in the city because western winds have left Sindh.

According to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, the rain system from Balochistan was entering Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to which both provinces are likely to witness heavy rains.

Karachi temperature today

The current temperature in Karachi is 29 degrees Celsius, while humidity is recorded at 52%, with light winds blowing from the west at 27 km/h. Met Office forecasted that the port city will remain clear from Saturday to next week as there is no chance of rain.

Earlier, Met Office informed that a strong westerly wave will enter western parts of the country on April 16 (night) and is likely to grip most parts of Balochistan on April 17 and will extend to upper parts on April 18. Under this weather system, various parts of counties including Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper parts of Punjab, some areas of Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir witnessed heavy rain and thunderstorms.

According to the NDMa date, until April 17, over 65 people died due to weather-related incidents including lightning across Pakistan, with rain so far in April falling at nearly twice the historical average rate; however, this death toll is expected to rise.
