The trip has been postponed until a later date in the year that has not yet been disclosed. Originally, it was planned for April 21 and 22.

He was expected to announce at least a $2–$3 billion investment during his two days in India. He was expected to meet with Modi and a number of executives from various space-related start-ups. He reportedly plans to establish a factory to produce entry-level electric cars, which are rumored to be Model 2.

The announcement of the Modi government’s new electric vehicle policy, which included a $500 million minimum investment requirement for businesses planning to establish manufacturing facilities there, preceded news of Musk’s visit to India by several weeks.
