ISLAMABAD: Government of Pakistan in collaboration with Alkhidmat Foundation dispatched 8th tranche of humanitarian assistance for people of Gaza on Sunday.

According to the Foreign Minister Ishaq dar,400 tons of humanitarian aid for Gazans consists of winterized tents, tarpaulins, blankets, medicines and food supplies through sea.

Taking on X, FM Ishaq Dar said the shipment will be received by the Pakistani Ambassador to Egypt Sajid Bilal at Port Said, Egypt and handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent for onward delivery to the people of Gaza.

Furthermore, he wrote, Pakistan remains committed to addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of our brothers and sisters in Gaza.

Earlier, Pakistan regretted the United State’s decision to veto the draft resolution seeking Palestine’s full membership of the United Nations (UN), as well as expressed its disappointment on the UN Security Council’s inability to ensure implementation of its resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza on April 19.

In her weekly press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said, “Pakistan is deeply disappointed by the result of last night’s debate at the UNSC and its inability to reach a consensus and recommend Palestine’s membership to UN General Assembly.”
