ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has predicted intermittent rain, storms, and thunderstorms across Pakistan starting April 24.
As per PMD, a westerly wave is likely to enter western areas of Pakistan on April 24 (night).
It will cover most of the upper regions of the country on April 26. Under the influence of this weather system, some parts of Pakistan are likely to receive intermittent rain from April 24 to April 29.
BALOCHISTAN PROVINCE: Nushki, Pashin, Harnai, Zhob, Barkhan, Gwadar, Kech, Awaran, Chagai, Kharan, Kalat, Mastung, Jhal Magsi, Nasirabad, Sibi, Kohlo, and Dera Bugti with strong winds, storms, and thundershowers. It is possible. Loralai, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Quetta, Ziarat, Shirani, and Musa Khel from April 24 (night) to April 27 (morning).
KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA: Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera, with a few heavy rains and thundershowers and snowfall over mountains.
It is possible. Ismail Khan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kirk, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, and Karam from April 25 (evening or night) to April 29 with occasional breaks.
Gilgit-Baltistan/KASHMIR: Gilgit-Baltistan (Diamir, Astor, Ghazor, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shagar), Kashmir (Wadi Neelam, Muzaffarabad) at a few places with strong winds and thundershowers and snowfall on high mountains.
It is possible. Rawalkot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sidhanoti, Kotli, Bhimbar, and Mirpur) from April 26th to April 29th, with occasional breaks.
PUNJAB/ISLAMABAD: Thunderstorm with few moderate to heavy rains in Murree, Guliyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, and Okara. Thunderstorms are likely.
Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Pakpattan, and Sahiwal from April 26th to 29th (morning).
Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Leh, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar will also experience intermittent rain or thundershowers from April 26 to 28. It is possible. During this time, hailstorms are also expected in isolated places.
SINDH: Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qamber Shahdadkot, Jamshoro, and Sanghar are likely to experience light rain with thundershowers on April 25 and 26.

Possible Impacts and Advice: Heavy rain may cause flooding in local drains and rivers in Dir, Swat, Chitral, Mansehra, Kohistan (Nushki, Pashin, Harnai, Zhob, Barkhan, Gwadar, Ketch, and Awaran) on April 26th and 27th, and Kashmir on April 27 and 28. Landslides are likely in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Guliyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan from April 27 to 29.
Wind, hail, and lightning can affect human life, standing crops, and loose structures like electricity poles and solar panels during this period. Farmers are advised to manage their crops, keeping in mind the weather conditions. Tourists are advised to avoid non-essential travel, especially from April 26 to 29. Temperatures are likely to drop during wet spells.
