After a series of talks for a power-sharing formula, the matters have been settled between the Pakistan Muslin League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for government formation in the center and the provinces.
The governorship of Sindh and Balochistan will also be given to the PML-N, while the governor of Punjab will be from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). In addition, the sources said that the PPP will not join the federal cabinet, while there will be more talks among both parties for the chairmanship of the Senate.
During a joint press conference in Islamabad last night, PML-N and PPP nominated Shehbaz Sharif as the Prime Minister and Asif Ali Zardari as the President while announcing the formation of a coalition government.

While holding a presser along with Asif Ali Zardari and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto, Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that both the PPP and PML-N have the necessary numbers to form a new government and are in a strong position to do so.
He further stated that if independent candidates can prove their majority and form a government, they will be wholeheartedly accepted.
The PPP and PML-N committees established for negotiations have completed their work. Bilawal Bhutto said I can tell you now that the numbers of the People’s Party and PML-N have been completed and we will implement the government formation.
