LAHORE: The Punjab Health Department has asked parents to make sure their children finish the immunization course in light of the sad rise in the number of youngsters dying from pneumonia. Immunization provides vulnerable children with essential protection against pneumonia and other infectious diseases, and it is still one of the most effective preventive interventions.
With 13 additional kids passing away from pneumonia in a single day, Punjab province is seeing a tragic rise in pediatric deaths linked to the condition.

The Punjab Health Department reports that the startling death toll has now risen to 405 youngsters this year alone.
Two youngsters from Lahore, three from Faisalabad, and two from Bahawalpur are among the heartbreaking toll, demonstrating the illness’s pervasive effect throughout different geographic areas. Sheikhupura also lost two children to pneumonia, and Gujranwala, Multan, and Rawalpindi each lost one child to the same illness.

In Punjab, 374 children were diagnosed with pneumonia in a 24-hour period, highlighting the critical need for assistance and care. The region has recorded more than twenty-nine thousand cases of pneumonia this year; in Lahore alone, 114 youngsters were admitted to the hospital in a single day.
