As the Eid al-Fitr in the United Arab Emirates approaches near, the UAE government has disclosed tentative plans for the Eid al-Fitr holiday 2024.
Keeping in mind the Islamic tradition, the Eid al-Fitr holidays will happen between the 29th of Ramadan and the 3rd of Shawwal. If Eid 2024 begins on April 10 (Tuesday), April 9 will be the 29th of Ramadan (Friday), April 12, being Shawwal 3 in the Gregorian calendar, residents may be granted an extended vacation from Tuesday (April 9) to Friday (April 12) inclusive of the weekend, for a total of six holidays.

Astronomical predictions
According to astronomical predictions, the observance of Eid al-Fitr is expected to commence on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, while Ramadan is anticipated to begin on Monday, March 11, 2024.
As per information, the UAE is expected to observe Ramadan for a total of thirty days. As a result, employees in both the public and private sectors will be granted a six-day holiday.
The possible conclusion of the holiday period could occur on April 13, which falls on a Saturday. The following day would then be Sunday, providing employees with a consecutive six-day break.
Moreover, it is anticipated that preparations for the observation of the Ramadan moon in the United Arab Emirates will begin on March 10. If the moon were to be observed on that particular day, the first fast would commence on March 11, thereby signifying the onset of Ramadan on March 12.
Residents are preparing for the fasting period as anticipation for the forthcoming festivities grows. The estimated duration of Ramadan in Dubai is 13 hours and 45 minutes at the outset, which progressively extends to 14 hours and 25 minutes by the festival’s conclusion.
