LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has claimed that its chief ministerial candidate Mian Aslam Iqbal has been arrested.
The claim was made by party leader Amir Dogar hours after the Punjab Assembly members took oath on Friday. Dogar added that Iqbal will take oath once he “recovers”.
Dogar, however, added that Iqbal had no contact and his whereabouts were not known. Iqbal secured bail from the Peshawar High Court to avoid arrest. In friday’s first meeting, 85 PTI members who joined the Sunni Ittehad Council took oath. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has nominated Maryam Nawaz as its chief ministerial candidate.
