New Delhi: India secured a tense five-wicket win over England in the fourth Test, sealing the series with a commanding 3-1 lead in the five-match series.
In pursuit of a target of 192 runs, India initially looked comfortable at 84 without loss, but a sudden collapse saw them struggling at 120-5. However, a resilient partnership of 72 runs between Shubman Gill (52) and Dhruv Jurel (39) guided India to victory on the fourth day of the match.
Despite a spirited bowling performance from off-spinner Shoaib Bashir, who took 3-79 in the second innings to add to his five-wicket haul in the first innings, England couldn’t prevent India from clinching the series.
