Karachi: A concerning incident unfolded in Karachi involving a local gliding club offering paragliding services to residents of the city. During a paragliding session at the Karachi Gliding Club, a woman encountered a life-threatening accident when she fell into the water. The absence of a prompt rescue team exacerbated the situation, leaving the woman stranded in the water for approximately 7 to 8 minutes before bystanders intervened and saved her in a boat.
The delayed emergency response from the club and local authorities has sparked criticism, particularly given the severity of the incident. The woman involved is currently in critical condition, receiving treatment in the ICU, as reported on social media platforms.
Concerned individuals have highlighted that multiple companies conduct paragliding activities in the area, with this incident involving the green parachute owned by the Karachi Gliding Club. Reports from a social media user also indicate issues with parachute malfunction and landing difficulties during previous paragliding attempts.
