Lahore: Peshawar Zalmi chairman Javed Afridi has announced that Babar Azam will receive a car, an ‘MG Essence’, as a gift for his outstanding century against Islamabad United at Gaddafi Stadium.
Afridi, impressed by Azam’s remarkable performance, wasted no time in declaring the prize. Azam’s unbeaten 111 runs off 63 balls during Monday’s match helped Peshawar Zalmi secure victory with a total of 201-5. His exceptional batting skills were on display, earning him the title of “The King” and solidifying his position as one of the best batters in the country.

This marks Azam’s second century in the Pakistan Super League and adds to his impressive record of 11 centuries in T20 cricket, placing him second only to the legendary West Indian batsman Chris Gayle. The match took a decisive turn when Azam took on Islamabad’s young pacer, Hunain Shah, hitting four fours and a six in one over. Azam’s recent achievement of becoming the fastest batter to reach 10,000 runs in T20 cricket indicates a promising future for the talented player.
