Lahore: In the thirteenth match of the HBL Pakistan Super League 9, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United by 8 runs.
The match, played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, saw Islamabad United’s captain Shadab Khan winning the toss and inviting Peshawar Zalmi to bat first.
Batting first, Peshawar Zalmi scored 201 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In response, Islamabad United managed to score 193 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, falling short of the target of 202 runs.
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi set a target of 202 runs with their captain Babar Azam scoring an impressive 111 runs off 63 balls. Additionally, Saqib Ayub contributed 38 runs, and Paul Walter added 19 runs to the total.
For Islamabad United, Shadab Khan took 2 wickets, while Asif Ali and Nasim Shah claimed one wicket each.

In pursuit of the target of 202 runs, Islamabad United’s Azam Khan top-scored with 75 runs, followed by Colin Munro with 71 runs. Asif Ali contributed 14 runs, and Jordan Cox scored 13 runs.
Peshawar Zalmi’s bowler Arif Yaqoob took 5 wickets for 24 runs, while Saqib Ayub, Luke Wood, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Salman Irshad took one wicket each.
