Quetta: In anticipation of the Balochistan Assembly session scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, the district administration of Quetta has announced the closure of all schools across the city.
The decision, conveyed through a notification from the Deputy Commissioner’s office, aims to ensure safety and security during the assembly proceedings.
Governor Balochistan Abdul Wali Kakar has formally summoned the assembly meeting, which is set to commence at 3 pm on February 28. The primary agenda of this session is the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs).

Speaker Balochistan Assembly Jan Jamali will administer the oath to the elected representatives, officially inducting them into the legislative body. Notably, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) emerged as the joint single-largest party alongside the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Balochistan following the recent elections.
