Karachi: Starting on Thursday, a lot of Sindhi cities, including Karachi, are predicted to see extremely heavy rain. As windstorms and heavy snowfall are expected to impact various regions of the country starting on February 29 and possibly lasting until March 2, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) released its forecast on Tuesday.
The Met Office warned that strong winds and precipitation might cause flash floods and cause disruptions to daily life in regions that are susceptible.
According to the weather service, a powerful westerly wave is expected to hit western regions on February 29 and might engulf the majority of the nation on March 1. The wave might last for two days. According to the meteorological system, heavy rain, wind, and thunderstorms are predicted for Sindh on February 29 and March 1 in Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Thatta, and other places. The PMD stated that an isolated hailstorm is also possible during that time.

The meteorological agency further stated that on February 29 and March 1, widespread, heavy rain, wind, and thunderstorms are predicted in Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, and other districts of Balochistan.
From February 29 to March 3, thunderstorms and heavy to extremely heavy widespread rain are predicted in the following areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): Peshawar, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, and other places. It is also anticipated that at this time there will be windstorms, snowfall, and heavy to extremely heavy widespread rain in various sections of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Kashmir.

In Punjab, Lahore, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, and other districts are predicted to see widespread, heavy rain and windstorms.
