The National Disaster Management Authority has issued a warning, stating that there is a possibility of flash flooding, landslides, and snowfall in several areas of the nation in the coming weeks. The NDMA said in an advisory on Sunday that a fresh system of intense rainfall in the west is expected to occur between March 5 and March 7.

According to the NDMA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Upper and Southern Punjab, and Balochistan are among the regions most likely to be impacted by the rains. The authorities did state that flooding would be “localized” if it happened. While places with crops may sustain some damage, downstream areas are not at risk of floods.
Meanwhile, Monday is expected to be cold and dry across much of the nation, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s forecast. On the other hand, thunderstorms and light snowfall are possible in Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Thunderstorms are predicted for later in the week in the following locations: Quetta, Ziarat, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Zhob, Gwadar, Chagi, Noushki, Kharan, Washuk, Kalat, Chitral, Malakand, Swat, Potohar region, and Kashmir. Snowfall is anticipated in hilly areas. It is predicted that Gwadar, which is already suffering from the impacts of heavy rain, would have rain again starting on March 9.
