Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has supported the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) call for the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 riots.
In a speech to the National Assembly, the former foreign minister endorsed newly elected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s demand for an investigation into the May 9 incidents.
While addressing in the house, Bilawal Bhutto said, “I endorse this […] if the PTI assures us that it will accept the decision of the judicial commission. It is not possible that someone attacks our institutions, the martyr’s memorials and we forget it”.

“We cannot take our politics forward unless we address this issue and this is the reason why the PPP appeals to the PM to form a judicial commission, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa should form the commission,” PPP Chairman added.
Bilawal Bhutto has also backed PM Shehbaz Sharif’s call for a charter of national reconciliation. He asked all political parties, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to work together to help the country overcome inflation. He urged his “friends” on the opposition benches to join the national political process.
Speaking in the parliament, Bilawal congratulated the newly elected Prime Minister, Opposition leader, and chief ministers of all four provinces and highlighted the need for them to play their role to save Pakistan’s “democracy and economy”.

“The people of Pakistan are sending a message that they are tired of our infighting. If the people had wished, they would have given one political party a majority,” he remarked, adding that everyone should work on issues of national importance.
While addressing the National Assembly session, the PPP Chairman has urged older lawmakers to make decisions that benefit the youth and the coming generations. “Past decisions that have been made have completely ruined the country,” he remarked.
He showed disappointment over the “abuse hurled around” at yesterday’s National Assembly session during PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif election as prime minister for his second term.
