A terrorist attack on Adiala Jail was averted on Wednesday night thanks to a coordinated effort by the police and the Counter Terrorism Department in Rawalpindi.
According to CPO Khalid Saeed Hamdani, the coordinated effort prevented a significant calamity. Three terrorists have been captured, he continued, and are being held at an unidentified “safe” location. All three of the terrorists, according to the CPO, were Afghan nationals.

According to the authorities, they recovered a sizable cache of automatic firearms and ammunition from the terrorists. In addition, the terrorists had maps of Adiala Jail, grenades, and homemade explosives. Following the terrorists’ capture, law authorities conducted a search operation near the Adiala Jail.
In a video, armed officials were seen entering an abandoned area of land to conduct a search while a caravan of police and CTD officials was seen parked by the side of the road at an unidentified place during the night.

Currently housed in Adiala Jail are a number of well-known inmates, including former chief minister Pervaiz Elahi, former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and former prime minister Imran Khan.
