In order to locate the moon during the holy month of Ramadan, the Pakistani Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on Monday. The gathering of clerics representing various schools of thought will be chaired by Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad with the aim of determining the exact start of the ninth Islamic month.

The start of the holy month is scheduled for Tuesday (tomorrow), if the moon is visible today. In the meantime, on Shaban 29 following Asr prayers, meetings of various zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees will be held concurrently at their respective locations in anticipation of the Ramadan moon sighting of Hijri year 1445.
According to the Met Office, the Ramadan moon was predicted to be born at 2:00 PM on Sunday and may be seen today when it would be older than 28 hours. Millions of Pakistanis and billions of Muslims worldwide will observe a fast throughout the holy month, which is marked with fervor and devotion for religion. Depending on where they live in the world, the fasting period will last between 12 and 17 hours.
