ISLAMABAD: Today is International Day to Combat Islamophobia In this context, the 62nd plenary of the UN General Assembly is being held. Ambassador Munir Akram, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, will make a statement on the occasion.

Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, declared her vehement condemnation of Islamophobia. She claimed that Islamophobia is the reason why Muslims face discrimination. The CM claimed that Islamophobia is the only reason why Muslims in Palestine and Kashmir are being persecuted.

“Muslims believe in peace, and Islam is a religion of peace,” CM Maryam stated. She asserted that Islam guaranteed basic rights. She called for unity among the Muslim nations and emphasized the need to eradicate Islamophobia. Maryam called for increased action against Islamophobia by the UN, OIC, and other international organizations.
