Islamabad: Pakistan Passport and immigration authorities are facing challenges due to the high volume of passport applications, according to sources at the Passport Office.
As per reports, the capacity for passport printing stands at only 20,000 to 22,000 per day. To address this issue, six desktop printing machines and two e-passport machines have been procured from abroad. Additionally, to mitigate the shortage of lamination paper, a stock of 90 days has also been acquired.
It is noteworthy that these printing machines are expected to arrive in Pakistan in the coming days.
