Islamabad United Peshawar Zalmi

In a crack of a match, Islamabad United outclassed Peshawar Zalmi by five wickets to sail into the final match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 9) on Saturday.

Imad Wasim and Haider Ali shinned during the chase against Yellow Storm in Eliminator 2 of the PSL 9 at Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena.

Islamabad United in their first PSL final since 2018 will take on Multan Sultan on March 18 in Karachi.

Islamabad after winning the toss invited Peshawar Zalmi to bat. Babar’s side put on a defendable total of 184. United at the start of the chase lost 4 early wickets, but the sheer determination showed by Imad Wasim and Haider Ali paved victory for United.

Peshawar started the second inning with domination as spinner Saim Ayub bagged early wickets of Alex Hales and Salman Ali Agha. Imad Wasim stepped up as an anchor for United, forming partnerships with Azam Khan and Haider Ali.

Azam scored 22 off 17 balls with a four and a six, while Luke Wood ended a 41-run stand. Later, Haider Ali arrived and attacked Zalmi bowlers from the start and smashed 29-ball 52 with five massive sixes and two fours. Imad scored his first fifty of the season, remaining unbeaten on 59 off 40 balls.
