PESHAWAR: The University of Agriculture in Peshawar is experiencing a serious financial issue, which has left its staff members in a precarious situation as they wait to get paid in February. The financial burden that the university and its employees are already under has been made worse by insider information that even the pay for the months of February and March cannot now be paid out.

Reputable university sources claim that an astounding amount of Rs 400 million is desperately needed to pay the unpaid salaries for both the previous and current month.
Dr. Jahan Bakht, vice-chancellor of Peshawar University of Agriculture, discussed the difficulties presented by a smaller budget allotted to universities and clarified how rising costs for pensions and wages are major causes of the university’s financial difficulties. The institution has made a request for immediate financial support from the province government in order to meet its payroll responsibilities.

Dr. Bakht restated the university’s need for urgent funding in order to reduce financial strain and guarantee that staff members are paid on time so that instruction may continue.
