ISLAMABAD: In light of the increasing concentration of pollen in the Rawalpindi and Islamabad regions, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has advised the people to take preventative measures.
Twin Cities’ pollen concentration has begun to spread as a result of the rising temperature.
The PMD also stated that the last week of March 2024 is predicted to see the highest pollen concentration in the twin cities. It is recommended that those with pollen allergy take all necessary precautions in this regard.

Paper mulberry, Acacia, Eucalyptus, Pines, Grasses, Cannabis, Dandelion, and Alternaria are the pollen kinds that are most prevalent in Islamabad. During the height of the blooming season, Paper Mulberry shares around 97% of all pollen counts among these species, with a concentration that reaches as high as 45,000 pollen particles per cubic meter of air.
The PMD will continue to release daily pollen concentration data alerts on its website (www.pmd.gov.pk) and in print and electronic media during the pollen season (March to April).
