Two Pakistan Army troops were killed on Thursday in a suicide attack in Dera Ismail Khan.

The Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement that the bomber was in a car and that it was aimed at a security force convoy. As a result, Naib Subedar Yasir Shakeel (age 38) and Sepoy Tahir Naveed (age 34) embraced shahadat, both belonged to District Kohat. According to ISPR “Those responsible for the act would be brought to justice,”

“Security forces of Pakistan remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” ISPR added

Days prior, seven soldiers lost their lives in a similar strike on a check post in North Waziristan. Six terrorists were slain by the army during a cleanup operation in response to the event.

Sehra, also known as Janan, the TTP commander who planned the attack, was also slain during the cleanup process. Pakistan’s airstrikes on militants’ hideouts in the districts of Paktika and Khost in Afghanistan had come after the attack.
