LAHORE: To combat the shortage of teaching staff in public schools, the Punjab government intends to hire numerous teachers throughout the province.
Shortage of Teachers in Punjab
The School Education Department (SED) in Punjab is reportedly facing a deficit of over 100,000 teachers. The last significant recruitment of teaching personnel occurred in 2018 during the tenure of the PML-N government.
New Recruitment Plan
The recent initiative to hire thousands of teachers follows the formation of the PML-N government in Punjab, with Maryam Nawaz assuming office as the province’s first female chief minister.
Vacancies for Teachers in Punjab 2024
The government aims to recruit 30,000 visiting teachers for schools in the initial phase, with further recruitment planned for subsequent phases. Additional funds will be allocated to school councils to cover the salaries of visiting teachers.
Application Deadline for Recruitment
The government has yet to release a formal advertisement for teacher recruitment; therefore, the deadline for applications is currently unavailable.
