The Supreme Court summoned six petitioners, including a former joint secretary and a former railways police chief, who had filed a joint petition seeking regulation of media freedom, but are now trying to withdraw it after a gap of two years.
The SC summoned the petitioner of the media regulations plea in their personal capacity and also sought a written response from the parties. The court issued a notice to the applicants and adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
