LAHORE: After years of suffering from mental anguish as a result of the process’s delay, the Punjab Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control has stopped collecting fees for the issuance of computerized number plates for automobiles and motorbikes.
The provincial cabinet ended the government’s monopoly on number plate manufacturing, which led to the current development. It has been determined that many private businesses will be permitted to produce and provide the plates to consumers.
Excise Director General Faisal Fareed has issued a notification in this regard, barring officials from collecting fees for number plates.
It is anticipated that working with private businesses will simplify the procedure and save costs by as much as Rs 500.

Those who purchase vehicles and motorbikes, who have been waiting for the number plates for years despite paying a charge, would be greatly relieved.
