ISLAMABAD: Pakistani citizens who are obtaining a passport for the first time must visit the relevant passport office or foreign mission to submit the application.
The government has recently increased the fees for normal and urgent categories. As of April 2024, the new fee for a standard 36-page passport for 5 years is now Rs 4,500 from the previous Rs 3,000, while the urgent processing fee has increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,500.
For a 10-year validity period, the fee for a 36-page passport has been increased to Rs 6,700, with an immediate fee of Rs 11,200.
For a 72-page passport for 5 years, people have to pay Rs 8,200 for normal processing and Rs 13,500 for expedited processing. For a 100-page passport valid for 10 years, the new fee is Rs 12,400 for regular processing and Rs 20,200 for expedited processing.

Documents required to obtain a new passport
Proof of payment of the prescribed passport fee through the original bank-paid fee challan (receipt) or e-payment confirmation details (SMS or email with PSID number).
Original with a valid CNIC/NICOP photocopy.
Previous passport with its photocopy (if issued).
NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the concerned department in the case of employees of government, semi-government, or autonomous bodies.
Delivery Time for Passports
The machine-readable passport (MRP), after being successfully processed, requires the following time for delivery:
Normal: 21 working days
Urgent: 5 working days
Fast Track: 2 working days
