LAHORE: Governor Punjab Baligh-ur-Rehman on Friday accepted the resignation of Aitchison College Principal Michael Thomson, while the Board of Governors approved the appointment of Amina Kamran as the interim principal.
According to the latest reports, the Board of Governors of Aitchison College has approved the fee waiver policy with important conditions.
The Board of Governors strongly opposed 100% fee waivers and fee waivers for all children. Junior and prep students were given a 50% fee waiver, while Hafiz Quran students were given a 50% fee waiver. The fee waiver policy for senior school students was unanimously rejected.
Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman, the President of the Board of Governors, while approving the policy of Aitchison College, said that he is ready to discuss the differences.
Governor Bligh and Aitchison College Principal Michael A. Thompson had resolved their differences, and now the governor has accepted the principal’s resignation.

Most of the Aitchison College board members said it would have been better to consider the committee’s reports before making any decisions.
“Michael A. Thompson made Atchison College so much better. We must acknowledge his service,” board members said, according to sources.
It should be noted that a few days ago, Michael A. Thomson, principal of Aitchison College, resigned from his position on March 25 due to differences with the Governor of Punjab.
In his resignation, he said that harmful changes in policies were made for the benefit of a few people. There is no room for nepotism and politics in schools. Due to the biased actions of the Punjab Governor House, the system of governance has become chaotic.
