LAHORE: The Punjab government has apologized for giving the services of important officers to the federal government.
According to media reports, Punjab has apologized for relieving two important officers, including DIG Operations Lahore Ali Nasir and Secretary C&W Sohail Ashraf.
Sources say that when DIG Operations Lahore was posted as IG Islamabad, the Punjab government refused to relieve him and requested the federal government transfer federal officers from the province to the Punjab government first. The change of officers has to make appointments to important posts.
Sources said that Interior Minister and Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi wanted to take Secretary C&W Sohail Ashraf to PCB, but the Punjab government stopped him from reporting to PCB, and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said this in this regard. As important projects are going on, the secretary cannot be changed immediately.
According to the sources, Mohsin Naqvi, who is the caretaker chief minister of Punjab, wanted to bring his team from Punjab to the federal government, so he tried to bring IG Punjab Usman Anwar as interior secretary, which did not work because Chief Minister Punjab Maryam. Nawaz wants to keep IG Usman Anwar in office.
Sources further said that Ali Nasir’s summary was sent to IG Islamabad, which was approved, and a notification was also issued while IG Islamabad Akbar Nasir left the charge of the post, despite the passage of two weeks. IG Islamabad did not take charge; the charge of acting IG in the federal capital is currently with DIG Operations Shahzad Bukhari.

Sources say that there is currently no discussion between Mohsin Naqvi and the Punjab government regarding the appointment of officers. If you want to make it, bring officers from outside.
According to sources, Mohsin Naqvi will now send three names for IG Islamabad, out of which one will be posted as IG, while the transfer of more officers will be discussed after Eid.
