ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Senator Ali Zafar as the leader of the opposition in the Senate and Aun Abbas as parliamentary leader in the Upper House of Parliament.
Following the meeting with founder PTI Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan Saturday announced the decision as per former PM Imran Khan’s decision.
While talking to the journalists in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar said that there should be no election of the Senate chairman and deputy chairman, as the electoral college was incomplete without the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He insisted that polls must be held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before the chairman and deputy chairman’s elections in the Senate.

In another development, PTI leader Ali Zafar dismissed any decision to boycott the Senate chairman and deputy chairman elections. Despite some PTI leaders talking about boycotting elections, Zafar confirmed that the prevailing stance of boycotting among PTI members does not favor such a move.
Ali Zafar emphasized that the PTI founder has entrusted the decision regarding the Senate election to party members. “I firmly believe that abstaining from the system will only keep us on the sidelines. Regardless of the election’s legality, our participation is essential to remain engaged within the system,” he stated.
