ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a weather alert of potential sudden floods in local water inlets across Balochistan on Thursday (today).
The Met Office issued the advisory, warning that flash floods, particularly in low-lying regions, are expected to occur in Balochistan on Thursday in the following districts: Gwadar, Kharan, Panjgur, Jiwani, Kech, Awaran, Pasni, Ormara, Washuk, Kalat, Noshki, Lasbella, and Khuzdar.
The Met Office has cautioned residents to remain vigilant against potential wind and hail-damaging structures such as electric poles, vehicles, and solar panels. Farmers in particular were urged to take precautions as lightning, wind, or hail pose a significant risk of crop destruction.

Meanwhile, the Met Office predicted heavy rainfall with winds and even thunderstorms across Balochistan on Thursday, including Jiwani, Qila Abdullah, Mastung, Chagi, Kharan, Pasni, Ormara, Lasbella, Khuzdar, Kalat, Noshki, Jhal Magsi, Naseerabad, Sibbi, Kohlu, Kech, Awaran, Harnai, Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Saifullah, Sherani, Zhob, Musa Khel, Barkhan Dera Bugti, Loralai, and Gwadar.
Similarly, the country’s most populous province Punjab is expected to be hit with rain and thunderstorms in various districts including Attock, Chakwal, Murree, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Mianwali, Pakpattan, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, and Sahiwal.
The cities of Padidan, Qamber Shahdadkot, Sukkur, Matiari, Tando, Kashmore, Dadu, Naushero Feroze, Ghotki, Jacobabad Mohammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Larkana, Karachi, Thatta, and Sajawal are all expected to see strong winds and showers on Thursday in Sindh. Hyderabad, Badin, Sanghar, Jamshoro, and Mirpur Khas.
