LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the first phase of the Punjab Bike Scheme 2024 under which the registration process has started.
The official registration portal has so far received over 4,800 applications for both petrol and electric bikes.
The bike scheme aims to empower students by distributing 19,000 petrol bikes and 1,000 electric bikes to students enrolled in colleges and universities across various cities of Punjab. In this regard, the Punjab government has collaborated with the Bank of Punjab to distribute bikes through interest-free installment plans.
This initiative was initially launched in Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, with the application deadline set for April 29.

Who Are Eligible for Punjab Bike Scheme for Students?
The students, currently enrolled as ‘regular’ students in degree programs of any university or graduate college in the Punjab (public or private), duly recognized by the HEC, are eligible to apply for Bikes under the scheme.
In an initiative to promote gender equality, female students are eligible and encouraged to apply for bikes under the Punjab Motorcycle Scheme 2024.
According to the government’s official website, both female and male students can apply for electric and petrol bikes, including options like Scootie and Motorbike versions.
Deadline for Punjab Bike Scheme
Eligible students can apply till April 29 as 12 days are left to apply for the interest-free motorcycle under the scheme.
