LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has announced another e-bike scheme, aims to facilitate teachers across the province, following the launch of bike scheme for students.
According to the details, the Punjab government will distribute 15,000 electric motorcycles among teachers across the province. Punjab Education Minister Sikandar Hayat announced that 5,000 electric bikes will be given to teachers in the first phase.
In second and third phase, another 10,000 motorcycles will be distributed among teachers. According to the reports, the details about payment plan, eligibility criteria and other are yet be revealed by the government.
Education Minister Hayat emphasized that the transition to electric bikes will result in savings for teachers in terms of transportation cost. He remains optimistic about the initiative’s potential to deliver tangible benefits, both in terms of cost-effectiveness and environmental preservation.

The announcement of the scheme comes as the registration process of Punjab motorcycle scheme for students is underway. The campaign aimed at providing 20,000 bikes to university and college students across the province, including a 1000 electric and 19,000 petrol bikes.
