KARACHI: A central market for sacrificial animals in Karachi is slated to open on May 10 to facilitate citizens observing the Sunnah of Ibrahimi during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha 2024.

According to a private news channel report, to meet the needs of the citizens of Karachi, a dedicated cattle market [market for sacrificial animals] will be set up on the Northern Bypass in Taisar Town, like last year.

The market plays an important role in promoting economic development, especially in Pakistan’s livestock sector, serving as a hub where thousands of traders gather to buy and sell millions of sacrificial animals across the country.

As per the report, for this year’s cattle market of sacrificial animals spread over an area of 1,000 acres on the Taisar Town Northern Bypass, the market will maintain its tradition of robust security measures, with police and ranger services deployed to ensure safety and order.

Meanwhile, the traders are required to obtain a certificate from the veterinary department to verify the health of the livestock.
