ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) informed the National Assembly Secretariat about the party’s position in NA today. In the report, ECP recognized the inclusion of PTI-backed independent candidates in the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC).
ECP officially informed that the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) is the second largest party in the National Assembly. The report stated that PML-N is the largest party in NA with 120 members, followed by SIC with 82 members (including 49 from Punjab and 33 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), PPP 71, MQM 21, JUI 11, PML-Q 5, IPP 4 and MWM, PKMAP, BNP, PMAP, BAP PML-Z each have one member.
However, the Election Commission did not give any reserved seats to the Sunni Ittehad Council.

Earlier, the National Assembly Secretariat had sought the latest party position from the electoral body, which has now been notified.
In a statement, the Secretariat announced that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed independent members of the National Assembly (NA) would be considered independent until the National Assembly Secretariat receives the party affiliation notification from the ECP.
