TANK: A district and sessions judge, Shakirullah Marwat, from Waziristan, was abducted by unidentified armed men from the Tank-Dera Ismail Khan border area, police confirmed on Saturday.
DSP Hafiz Muhammad Adnan has said that unknown armed men kidnapped the judge of South Waziristan’s local court from village Bhagwal near Tank on his way back to Dera Ismail Khan when he was returning from duty.
Providing details on the matter, DI Khan DSP Mohammad Adnan said that the armed men left the session judge’s car and driver on the spot. The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has registered the FIR of the incident. Police have said that no one has claimed responsibility for the judge’s abduction.

Taking notice of the matter, KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur issued orders for the safe recovery of Judge Shakirullah Marwat. He urged emergency measures for Marwat’s recovery and said that all available resources should be utilized for the task.
Special committee formed to inquire kidnapping of Session Judge
Meanwhile, a special committee has been established to probe Sessions Judge’s kidnapping case. The committee includes the officials of CTD, police, and other law enforcement agencies while a separate CTD team is investigating to recover the judge, police officials said.
According to police officials, search operations and investigations of many suspects are going on in different areas of the DI Khan.
On the other hand, security has been tightened at DI Khan and Tank border and orders have been issued to prevent any vehicle or person from entering Punjab from Pakhtunkhwa without search.
