ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday issued the Income Tax General Order, asking authorities to block the SIM cards of over 506,000 identified non-compliant taxpayers across the country.
According to a private news channel report, the FBR has identified more than 506,000 individuals who are eligible to file income tax returns but are not included in the FBR active taxpayer list.
The FBR spokesperson said, “Despite being eligible, these individuals have not fulfilled their tax obligations.”
The FBR has initiated action against non-compliant taxpayers and warned tax evaders that SIM cards can be blocked at any time if they do not file their tax returns.

The FBR has taken decisive action against taxpayers who are not fulfilling their obligations and has warned them of the consequences, including blocking SIM cards at any time if individuals fail to submit their tax returns. I fail.
The FBR sought a report from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authorities (PTA) to provide details of blocked SIM connections by May 15, setting a deadline.
