Karachi: Earthquake tremors were felt in Karachi’s Malir district on Thursday evening as the earthquake measured 2.3 on the Richter scale.
The National Seismic Monitoring Center (NSMC) confirmed that tremors were felt in Malir, Kathor, and Gadap Town. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the northeastern region of Malir.
According to the NSMC, the depth of the earthquake was recorded at 84 km. The tremors were felt at 5:52 p.m.
Last week, an earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale occurred in the same area of Karachi.
The NSMC confirmed that tremors were felt in Malir, Landhi, Quaidabad, Kathor, and Gadap Town.

The epicenter of the earthquake was New Malir Karachi, and its depth was 12 km.
On October 16 last year, a mild earthquake of magnitude 3.1 on the Richter scale was felt in different areas of Karachi, the capital of Sindh province.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center Islamabad, the depth of the earthquake was recorded at 15 km, and the epicenter was near the Quaidabad area of Karachi.
