LAHORE: The central leaders of Pakistan Muslim League (N) will consult today at Model Town Party Secretariat Lahore on the issue of the wheat procurement crisis in Punjab.
According to the media reports, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) founder Nawaz Sharif has also summoned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss the wheat crisis. Sources said that the prime minister will brief Nawaz Sharif regarding the wheat scandal in the meeting.
The meeting is expected to be held at 2 pm in Lahore’s party secretariat. Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Asif, and other senior PML-N leaders will participate in the meeting and will be briefed on the issue of wheat purchase.
It has also been informed that the reorganization of the party will also be considered in today’s meeting and preparations for the general council meeting of PML-N on May 11 will also be considered in the advisory meeting.

Yesterday, Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz presided over the meeting regarding the purchase of wheat. Nawaz Sharif was told that the caretaker government was responsible for the wheat crisis in the country.
Earlier, PM Shehbaz Sharif sacked Secretary Food Security Muhammad Asif and formed a high-level inquiry committee to probe into the matter of wheat import in the country. The prime minister constituted a committee headed by the Secretary Cabinet Division to investigate the matter.
