KARACHI: In a relief to the construction industry, cement prices have seen a significant drop in Pakistan after back-to-back hikes with moderate demand on Monday.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data, a slight drop in prices resulted in a positive impact on the construction sector. The drop in rates will also provide potential relief to those who are looking to start construction soon.
Latest cement price in Pakistan
In Northern Pakistan, the average retail price of cement per bag was Rs. 1225 during the last week. In a similar vein, the average retail price of a bag of cement in southern cities was found to be Rs 1200.

The price of a cement bag was Rs 1210 in the capital city of Islamabad and Rs 1199 in Rawalpindi. Gujranwala 1200 Rupees; Sialkot 1240 Rupees; Lahore 1280 Rupees; Faisalabad 1240 Rupees; Sargodha 1217 Rupees; Multan 1216 Rupees; Bahawalpur 1250 Rupees; Peshawar 1200 Rupees; and Bannu 1170 Rupees.
Comparably, the average retail price per bag was Rs. 1168 in Karachi, Rs. 1180 in Hyderabad, Rs. 1300 in Sukkur, Rs. 1173 in Larkana, Rs. 1200 in Quetta, and Rs. 1177 in Khuzdar.
