ISLAMABAD: The federal government announced significant increases in the passport fees for the fast-track category in Pakistan on Tuesday after reports regarding a backlog in passport processing emerged.
In a recent update, the increase for fast-track passport services fees will come into effect from May 8 (Wednesday). Directorate General Immigration & Passports increased fees for both 5-year and 10-year passports.
In a notification issued today, DGI&P notified that the fee for a 36-page Machine Readable (MR) passport, valid for five years, has been increased to Rs. 12,500. The fee for 72-page and 100-page passports with a validity period of 5 and 10 years has also been revised.
New increased Passport Fee in Pakistan 2024
For a 36-page machine-readable (MR) passport, applicants need to pay Rs12,500 for a validity period of five years and Rs16,200 for 10 years of validity. Meanwhile, the new fee for a 72-page passport for five years stands at Rs18,500.
The passport fee for the fast-track category of 100 pages with 5-year validity stands at Rs23,000 and Rs32,000 for 10 years.
